Application
Anticorrosive epoxy primer can be applied directly on:
- Steel and aluminum after matting and degreasing.
- Zinc-coated and galvanized steel after matting and degreasing.
- Sanded glass fibre-polyester ((GFK/GRP) and glass fibre-epoxy laminates.
- Polyester and epoxy body fillers.
- Old paint coatings in good condition after matting and degreasing.
Good surface preparation is essential to achieve the best repair results.
Mixing proportion per volume
- Primer: 1
- Hardener: 1
- Thinner: not required
Stir thoroughly until obtaining a homogenous mixture.
Drying time
- About 5 hours at 20°C (depending on coating thickness).
- About 35 minutes at 60°C (depending on coating thickness).
Temperatures below 20°C significantly increase the drying time.
Further work
2K epoxy primers can be directly over coated with:
- 2K top coats.
- 1K base coats.
- 2K acrylic primers.
- 2K polyester body fillers.
- 2K epoxy body fillers.
General notes
- Do not exceed recommended doses of the hardener!
- The best repair results can be achieved by painting at room temperature.
- The temperature in the body shop and the temperature of the product should be similar.
- When working with 2K products, it is recommended to use personal protection equipment.
- Protect the eyes and airways.
- The rooms should be well ventilated.
- Clean the guns and equipment immediately after use.
